Welcome to the RISS Impact Website
The Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Program is a proven resource for law enforcement. RISS serves more than 9,600 law enforcement and public safety agencies and hundreds of thousands of law enforcement professionals across the country. RISS helps agencies at all levels of government resolve cases, prosecute offenders, and protect officers and communities.
RISS staff help officers and investigators identify suspects and solve cases in areas such as violent crime, hate crimes, homicide, human trafficking, sexual assault, property crimes, domestic terrorism and extremism, and other criminal activities. RISS focuses on three areas: Investigative Case Support, Secure Information and Intelligence Sharing, and Officer Safety and Deconfliction.
- The six RISS Centers provide investigative case support services, including analytical, research, equipment, training, and publications development. Field staff works one-on-one with agencies to share and distribute critical information and connect officers across jurisdictions.
- RISS is a leader and pioneer in technology and has enabled officers to significantly enhance information sharing, which is a top priority among law enforcement agencies. RISS adheres to strict security policies and ensures that privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties are protected.
- RISS provides resources, training, and event deconfliction services that help ensure officer and citizen safety.
Each year, with the help of RISS staff and RISS services and resources, law enforcement agencies and officers seize millions of dollars worth of narcotics and stolen property and arrest thousands of criminals. RISS is an excellent return on investment and directly impacts our homeland and hometown security, health, and well-being.
