The Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Program and the Washington / Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (W/B HIDTA) have long been information sharing partners, particularly related to event deconfliction and the national integration of the RISS Officer Safety Event Deconfliction System (RISSafe) and W/B HIDTA web-based management and deconfliction system (Case Explorer).
This partnership has now expanded to include case coordination efforts between the RISS Criminal Intelligence Database (RISSIntel) and W/B HIDTA Case Explorer as part of the newly developed National Case Coordination System (NCCS).
Officers who make entries into either system will now be able to receive notification if case information matches in the other system if the entry into the partner system occurred within the last three years. This partnership will allow officers to contact each other directly and coordinate on investigative cases saving the officers valuable time.
Key data elements for matching purposes include:
- First and Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Miscellaneous Identifiers (Local/State/FBI ID, SSN, DL #, etc.)
- Telephone Numbers
- Vehicle Identifiers
- Weapon Serial Number
- Location
For additional information or questions about NCCS, please contact your in-region RISS Center or the W/B HIDTA as appropriate to the system you utilize.
