The RISS mobile app allows authorized RISS members to access various services and resources. For review purposes, the supplied test account has full access to application features but only has permission to a “Demo” environment pointed to a demonstration dataset.
- On the main logon screen, tap Sign in to RISSNET
- Enter the supplied RISSNET Username and Password and tap Sign in.
- On the Two-Factor Authentication screen, tap (Select a method) and choose Text Message
- Tap Send me a code.
- Logon to GetMyMFA https://client.get.mymfa.io/login to retrieve the 6 digit code.

Type or paste the 6 digit code. Tap Submit.If the code has expired, tap Send me a code again and then click the Refresh button on the GetMyMFA page to get the new code.
The app provides access to four main areas accessible from the tabs or menu:
Users may search available RISS resources via a single full-text search field, or an advanced multi-field search. Clicking the title of a search result displays the detail information.
RISSIntel – RISS’s nationwide criminal intelligence database
Collaboration Websites – A collection of websites and forums that law enforcement members use to share information.

RISSafe
RISSafe is an officer safety event deconfliction system. Officers submit upcoming events/operations to the system and are notified if other officers are working another event at the same time and location. The app allows members to submit these events and view previously submitted events. Users may also view a list of RISS Watch Centers to contact for assistance.
To add a new RISSafe operation:
1. Tap Add Operation
2. Acknowledge the “Demo” mode warning.
3. Complete the following sections:
Additional Contacts – 1 secondary contact required
Operation – Operation Type field required.
Event– Start and End dates required.
Location – Location required. (Please enter a location within the United States)
Record – (Optional)
4. Tap the Submit Operation button at the bottom or the Submit button in upper-right
RISSIntel
RISSIntel is a nationwide criminal intelligence database. Users may view their own records previously submitted to the database through a separate, web-based application.
Users can view and swipe to acknowledge notifications generated from various RISS systems and applications.

The app supports two-factor authentication using a YubiKey over NFC. The below video demonstrates setting up a YubiKey and using it to logon to the app.
